Raz's School Picture

it's official, he's a pre-schooler!
a photographer came and took some pictures of the classes at raz's school - i was hoping there would be a photo of the whole class, but it was only individuals. it's been a month and he still loves it. he keeps asking if he can go every day... i'm sure that will change in a few years!

Family Vacation

We just got back from our short trip to Tarpon Springs. Raz had a great time in the huge pool at the resort. What a nice place it was! Nice and quiet, but close to a lot of things to do. The biggest plus was the fact that there were six pools, but we were right across from the biggest pool, the Loch Ness. It was just what we needed! Raz spent every spare moment there. We also went into the town of Tarpon Springs, took a boat ride and saw some dolphins. We also went to the Florida Aquarium in Tampa - another nice (and fairly cheap) attraction - we have an annual zoo pass, which got us 50% off the admission! (You know me, always excited about a bargain!) It was a nice relaxing long weekend for us...I can't wait to do it again!

Liki Tiki

On Saturday we went to a local timeshare resort - Liki Tiki - and played in their pool/water "park" area. Raz had a blast, but after about two hours, we all looked like prunes and needed to get out of the water. Raz was reluctant to leave, saying "I'll never see this place again!" I hated to tell him, but since we didn't buy a timeshare, he was probably right...

bobby's big fish

bobby went on an off-shore fishing trip last week, and this was his big catch. looks like they had to cut the tail off just so it would fit in the cooler. it might look ugly, but it tasted good!

lemonade and M&Ms

besides wearing the glasses that belong to mr. potato head, and making his "funny face", raz has come up with some other doozies. he just found a dollar bill folded up on my nightstand. he came to me and asked if he could use the dollar to buy some lemonade and "m's and m's". i told him yes, but that he would have to wait until after breakfast!

July 4th Fish Fry

Here's Raz at our annual 4th of July fish fry. The menu featured Bobby's famous swamp cabbage (and I hate to admit it, but there was none left over!). Raz had a great time climbing trees and playing catch with Lily, a black lab pup. At dark we shot off fireworks, but Raz was happy with the flashlight that our friend let him play with. What a simple boy...

A Birthday Party

Yesterday Raz went to Paige's third birthday party! What a good time everyone had...Paige's dad built her a treehouse, and it is SO cool! And of course there was lots of water - 2 pools and a slip n slide! And cake too - Raz managed to eat two pieces...like father like son...

Peas in a Pod

Well, as most of you know, my workmates and i have been called many things, the lastest being "thick as thieves", which is a term we don't like. So we have decided we are more like "peas in a pod"...

Hair Cut

As most of you know, I just recently cut my hair for donation (this is my hairdresser, Ann, who did the deed!). I donated it to an organization called "Beautiful Lengths" and it is sponsored by Pantene. Their sole purpose is to make wigs for women who have lost their hair due to the side effects of chemotherapy treatment. Initially my donation was in honor of Margo, and it still is of course, but I also wanted to add two other women to that list. First is my friend Maria Shafer's sister, Karen, who lost her battle with cancer two years ago. And second is my friend Molly's roommate, Ruth, who just lost her battle with cancer two days ago. This is a terrible fact of life that we have all come to deal with. I was talking with Maria the other day and we were sharing stories of our sisters' last days. As we were talking this crazy thought came to my head (so crazy i didn't say it out loud)...I thought "I am so glad we share this experience so that we can talk to eachother about it". I know that Maria wouldn't have taken it the wrong way, because no one should have to even have the experience to share. But in some strange way, I am fortunate to have friends that I can talk to and who can relate to the situation. So everyone, have a drink and say a "cheers" to Margo, Karen and Ruth - they would all probably want you to have two... :)

Memorial Day

This afternoon we went to our friend Larry's house for a cookout. Larry has two grandkids, Anna and Wyatt. Raz had a good time with his two new friends...

The First Post

This whole "blogging" thing is new to me, but after I got two emails last night from two unrelated people, both with a link to their blogs at the end, I decided this might be something I need to try. So here I am, on a holiday Monday morning, with a million other things that I should be doing (mowing the lawn and grocery shopping are at the top of that list, along with downloading all of the images from last night's wedding), and I have spent an hour starting up this blog page. I think this is going to end up being a great place to post pictures, this way I can direct everyone to the blog, instead of sending out a thousand emails when Raz happens to do something funny. (see above...)
